AKA Says “Just Because I’m Comfortable Doesn’t Mean I Shouldn’t Fight For Others”

Rapper AKA has been tweeting about how the entertainment industry has taken a knock during the pandemic and how he feels there is a lack of leadership.

Earlier on AKA tweeted that he was now down to his last million.

AKA who appears to be worried about what the future holds for artists in South Africa during and post lockdown.

He wrote the following on Twitter “All these people we call “OG’s” in the music industry are quiet as FUCK with regards to how to lead us during this pandemic. An absolute void of leadership. What is to become of our artists and their livelihoods?”

It seems some users read into this tweet that perhaps AKA is solely depended on revenue from his gigs.

A user replied to AKA’s tweet and wrote “I feel sorry for the artist’s who depend on gigs in order to put a plate on the table.”

Unfortunately for that social media users that replied with the assumptions that AKA’s plates aren’t seeing the food they used to, got a quick slapping reply from Mega.

AKA wrote the following “Sorry to break it to you, but I don’t depend on gigs to survive. I made my lamb stew with a nice Pinotage this evening. Now look at you.”

Smart clap backs aside AKA also said that not everything is about him and that just because his situation may be comfortable doesn’t mean he shouldn’t fight for others.

True leadership there and hopefully the right people do devise a solution for entertainers soon.
