We have known for a while that BET award winning musician Sjava would be appearing on SABC’s most watched television show Uzalo.
While at first the news was met with a lot of excitement from fans it does appear that Sjava’s casting on the show has taken a dramatic turn.
According to the latest reports this is due to the Sjava being accuse of rape by singer Lady Zamar.
According to Daily Sun sources the powers that be at Uzalo want the character played by Sjava to be removed.
A source told the publication “The SABC has issued instructions to have Sjava’s character scrapped from the show because it’s not comfortable with having him on its biggest show, especially after the rape allegations. When he joined the show there was much fanfare, but that has changed because the top bosses at the SABC want him out.”
It appears that since the rape allegations surface Sjava has been losing out on performing gigs and now even on acting gigs.
Sjava has not responded to the rumours that his character is soon to be axed from the show because of the allegations levelled against him.
Though a SABC spokesperson Mmoni Seapolelo did comment on the matter and said “The SABC can confirm that Sjava was on a limited storyline on Uzalo, which will conclude naturally.”
There was also a post by entertainment commentator Kgopolo Mphela in which he said “Sources are telling me that Uzalo has been forced to let go of Sjava as channel is not happy with his casting. I’m told this is tied to the controversy around his abuse allegations.”
Which begs the questions of did they not know about the allegations prior to them casting him?
